Use web analytics data as early-warning alert for future problems and take action to reduce the impact. All too often clickstream data is just a rear-view mirror and the lessons it teaches are too late. That's why taking action on the basis of analytics is the hard bit. This article is a great example of how to do it the other way round.

Retailers who use Google's Product Feed (AKA Froogle) should take a look at this. They've introduced some analytics which allow you to look at your own product performance and also get an idea of industry trends.

If you're interested in using API to extract XML files from Google Ananlytics, this is the place to look. Very useful if you have that need and the relevant level of understanding.

Combine visitor feedback from Kampyle's on-site survey system with Google Analytics reports. Greasemonkey script, so needs Firefox.

This short summary of an eye-tracking test on electronics retailers contains links to download an excellent .pdf and Powerpoint animations of gaze heatmaps. The .pdf itself contains links to sample .avi movies of the tests. So there's a generous wealth of material here for anyone interested in how shoppers react to different designs.
Easy Toilet Seats - Easy Close, Easy Clean, Easy 2

Example of how NOT to do a product page. Beemis have a brilliant product with an a great innovation. (It's a toilet seat you can remove easily so you can clean the hard-to-reach bits.) Their product page has copy to tell you this. And there's even an embedded video. But there is nothing visible at first glance to get across what is SO special about this product. A still from the video is all it would take to boost sales, I bet.
Product information is king. But only if people can see it.

Very detailed post on specific techniques for segmenting visitors on the basis of mindshare, as revealed by their viewing of different groups of material on a site. Suggests approaches to the taxonomy of those groups. Part of an extremely useful series on thorough analysis rather than just reporting.
